Definition av Cylindervolym

Volymen av en cylinder är den totala mängden utrymme som innesluts inom dess cirkulära baser och böjda yta. I rymdgeometri är en cylinder en tredimensionell geometrisk form med två parallella, kongruenta cirkulära baser förbundna av en böjd yta på ett fast avstånd (höjden). Volymen mäts i kubikenheter — kubikcentimeter (cm³), kubikmeter (m³), liter och så vidare.

För att hitta volymen behöver du två mått: radien av den cirkulära basen och höjden (det vinkelräta avståndet mellan de två baserna). Pi (π ≈ 3.14159) binder samman dem. Formeln multiplicerar basens area med höjden, vilket ger dig det totala rymden.

Cylindrar finns överallt. Dricksglas, burkar, rör, blomkrukor, trädstammar och vissa ben är cylindriska. Ingenjörer använder cylindervolym för att dimensionera vattentankar, rörsystem och mätning i motorer.
